PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mr. Jim X. Borzym has worked as an acoustical consultant in Colorado for twenty years, first with a nationally renowned consulting group, and since 1998 as an independent consultant. His professional experience is broad, consisting of projects of many types. His projects include theaters, concert halls, churches, university buildings, power plants, restaurants, laboratories, hotels, recreation centers, single and multi-family residences, commercial buildings, and many others.

Mr. Borzym's special area of technical expertise is stringent noise control and vibration isolation in mechanical, piping and electrical systems, and specialized equipment. Other areas of expertise include interior architectural acoustics, isolation from exterior noise, low-vibration environments, and environmental noise.

His project involvement encompasses all phases of responsibility including conceptual planning, alternate systems analysis, documentation, specification, value assessment, contractor support, construction observation, system performance, documentation and troubleshooting. His work includes many interesting facets such as equipment testing, structural isolation, historic and ultra-modern architecture, custom product development and expert testimony.

Jim Borzym works as a professional consultant, with an office in Boulder, Colorado. He worked previously with Kirkegaard and Associates for twelve years as Senior Associate and the Director of the Colorado Office. He worked formerly as a mechanical engineer for an HVAC system design and consulting firm.

Mr. Borzym is a licensed mechanical engineer, and maintains specialty certification through the Institute of Noise Control Engineering. Borzym Acoustics is a member firm of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants. Jim X. Borzym has a twenty-five year history of successfully constructed projects.
